The company

ANDRAS Steuerungssysteme GmbH was founded in 1977 in Bremen, with the objective of developing customer-specific solutions as a software system house.

The computer world of Nixdorf AG initially formed the platform for that, in which Reinhard Andras, owner and general manager of ANDRAS Steuerungssysteme GmbH, was active.

As well as Volkswagen AG, production companies of the wood industry in particular were equipped with automation solutions, since the process-concurrent software concept of ANDRAS Steuerungssysteme GmbH, even at that time, enabled a variation in manufacture down to lot size 1.

Wood processing machines The automation concept could be applied at that time, however, only on a centralist hardware platform.

In case of complex systems, this resulted in high-cost outlays to ensure the wiring system quality and to minimize interference influences. Therefore the company developed a decentralized control concept at an early stage.
